Carlo Belloli

Carlo Belloli (Milan, IT, 1922 – 2003)
Carlo Belloli was the exponent of the last generation of poets linked to Futurism. He is the forerunner of Concrete Poetry and one of the founders of Visual Poetry. In the introduction to his collection of mural poems (1944, with a preface by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti), he enunciated the theory of Visual Poetry. In the 1959, commemorative year of the first 50th anniversary of the birth of Futurism, Carlo Belloli together with some protagonists of the movement like Giovanni Acquaviva, Cesare Andreoni, and Bruno Munari give shape to a permanent foundation of studies on this movement with the International Institute of Studies on Futurism (ISISUF).
