Coco Gordon (1938)
Coco Gordon (aka ‘SuperSkyWoman’) began as a paper-maker and independent publisher, going on to become a prolific book artist who made hundreds of unique works as well as several dozen publications. Her books are largely produced with the manipulation of a photocopier, dense with images, poetry, and other text. Like as objects, her artworks feel thoroughly worked-over, often incorporating a range of materials at all once. The resulting work is something that is both deliberately rendered, but chaotic and overgrown.
