Erik Dietman

Erik Dietman (Jönköping, SE, 1937 – Paris, FR, 2002)
As a multidisciplinary artist, Erik Dietman deliberately kept himself on the margins of the artistic movements of his time, despite sharing some affinities with them. Erik Dietman left Sweden and arrived in France in 1959 where he met the supporters of the Nouveau Réalisme and Fluxus whose work was close in intent to his own and became close to Daniel Spoerri and Robert Filliou. His three-dimensional vocabulary, ranging from composite assemblies to monumental bronzes, combines narration with figuration and is oriented towards the creation of a sort of visual spoonerism.
