Ladislav Novák

Ladislav Novák (Turnov, CZ, 1925 – 1999)
After studying at the University of Prague, Ladislav Novák began writing surrealist poems. Around the 1960s, together with his colleagues Jiří Kolář and Josef Hiršal, he dealt with Experimental Poetry: among other poems, the 1969 publication, The liquefaction of the Descartes. His works clashed with the communist regime, even in his own Czechoslovakia, finding more fortune in Western Europe and the United States of America.
