Michel Seuphor

Michel Seuphor (born Fernand-Louise Berckelaers; Antwerp, Belgium 1901 – Paris, France 1999). Seuphor (anagram of Orpheus) was a Belgian painter that was very close to the abstract painters of his time. He founded the abstract artists’ group “Cercle et Carré” which included luminaries such as Wassily Kandinsky and Le Corbusier. Michel Seuphor has been very important writer of some of the most complete books about history and development of modern abstract art.
