Robert Ashley (Ann Arbor, Michigan, 1930 – New York, New York, 2014). Ashley’s has been defined as a re-inventor of the contemporary Opera. Through his distinguished and pioneering music practice he focused on the importance of words and voices, believing they could convey meaning even after the multiple modifications he was making them undergo. Through editions on cloth and portfolios, Ashley’s collaboration with Fransceco Conz allowed a lasting materialization of his talent.
