Roland Sabatier (Toulouse, France, 1942). Roland Sabatier is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice has explored many fields. He joined the Lettrism movement in 1963 after attending an event at the Paris Biennale hosted by Isodore Isou. After producing a series of sculptures, he began experimenting with hypergraphy, a specific Lettrism method based on the entirety of concrete communication signs. Through his career Sabatier also wrote novels, poetry, music composition, theatre plays, directed movies, practiced photography and architecture.
