Urs Lüthi (Kriens, CH, 1947)
Urs Lüthi is a Swiss conceptual artist who attended the School of Applied Arts in Zurich. Noted for using his body and alter ego as the subject of his artworks, he has worked in photography, sculpture, performance, silk-screen printing, video and painting in which broad uniform patches of color, or aplats, dominate. References to Pop Art, Op Art and Concrete Painting are readily mixed. His fascination with the diversity of media and his artistic determination to create works with an almost classical effect in a range of genres becomes apparent. He returns repeatedly to individual themes and aspects, combines them in new arrangements and extends them through new picture Solutions.
